1. Definition and Anatomy Anterior Wall Myocardial Infarction is a type of ST-elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) caused by acute occlusion of the Left Anterior Descending (LAD) artery . The LAD supplies a large territory: the anterior wall of the left ventricle, the anterior interventricular septum, the apex, and often the anterolateral papillary muscle.

| Leads Involved | Territory | Key ECG Features | | :--- | :--- | :--- | | V1–V2 | Septal | ST elevation, Q waves (septal Q waves are pathologic here) | | V3–V4 | Anterior | Most sensitive leads for anterior STEMI | | V5–V6, I, aVL | Apical / Anterolateral | Extension to lateral wall suggests proximal LAD or large diagonal branch |
