A blocked tear duct (nasolacrimal duct obstruction) prevents tears from draining normally from the eye into the nose. This leads to persistent tearing (epiphora), sticky discharge, and sometimes recurrent eye infections. While the condition is common in newborns, it can also affect adults due to aging, injury, or infection.
