Deeper in, Leo discovers a junction. Two paths. One marked with an old rescue symbol (Tommy’s sign). The other fresh boot prints. Leo doesn't answer

Darkness. The sound of dripping water and heavy breathing. A match flares. We see LEO VANCE (40s) , hollow-eyed, his hands trembling. He's in an abandoned mine shaft. On his chest: an old rescue medic badge, scratched out. We got five miners

THE PITT — then underneath: "Breathe In" Act One: Leo arrives at the makeshift rescue base above the Pitt Mine — a rusted mouth of earth in a dying Appalachian town. The operation is chaotic. The mine owner, HARLEN CADE (60s) , wants to seal the tunnel and call it a "gas leak."

But a young, sharp journalist has the rescue list: five names, including Cade’s own estranged daughter, KIRA .

The camera pulls back. On the hillside, a wooden cross with Tommy’s helmet. And next to it — a fresh set of footprints leading away from the mine entrance, into the woods.
