Unlike older "HDTV" rips that might be re-encoded multiple times, a PDTV rip is typically the first digital generation—captured via a capture card from an over-the-air or cable signal. For Season 5, this meant capturing the 1080i broadcast, de-interlacing it, and encoding it into an x264 file. Season 5 of Young Sheldon was a transitional season.
